Yr 4 Visit to Hazard Alley Safety Centre
As part of our PSHE programme, Year 4 visited Hazard Alley Safety Centre on Monday 22nd November. The children were shown various scenarios, which resembled real situations, including fire safety, safety in the home, staying safe near water, how to cross the road safely and making a 999 call. They worked in small groups to discuss dangerous situations they may find themselves in, and how to react safely to them. It was an extremely valuable, interactive experience for all the children, and they were all fully involved throughout the session. Their behaviour was exceptional!
The children reflected on what they learnt:
‘The best part of the trip was when we went inside a house where there had been a fire and we learnt about fire safety’ – Naisha
‘Our trip to Hazard Alley not only taught us all about how importance safety, but it was also so much fun!’ – Anuradha
‘I liked learning about how to make a 999 call and we used a telephone box to make a call’ – Elias
