On Tuesday 14th March, two teams of Year 4 girls travelled to St. Hilda’s for their inaugural Year 4 Netball Tournament. They showed great enthusiasm and stamina in taking part in five matches each in quick succession and had a fantastic afternoon!
Both teams had lots of close matches and a plethora of goals were scored, with our teams recording 3-0 and 4-0 wins respectively. The children were all magnificent, and we were particularly proud of their versatility and ability to play in multiple positions in order to promote success for their teams. The highlight of the afternoon was without doubt, the epic Reddiford versus Reddiford match! With fourteen Reddiford players participating, the game was closely fought in the central areas of the court and the teams were evenly matched. A late goal scored by Aarya was the decisive factor in a superb contest.
A special mention goes to Anisa who was always available to continue her team’s forward momentum and to Sameeha who played really well when attacking and defending. Well done to all of the goal scorers for holding their nerve in front of a large crowd, and especially to Evie who was prolific when playing as Goal Attack. The girls finished the afternoon in a well-deserved second place.
Thank you to all of the parents who attended for being the “8th Player,” and cheering the girls on to several victories.
