The Reception children take part in spring and autumn walks to Pinner Memorial Park. They visit local shops, places of worship, the library and post letters when studying their local area. They join Year 1 and 2 to see a Pantomime at Christmas. They join in with the Dinosaur trail at Knebworth House where they can see 72 life sized dinosaurs and explore the maze and the wooden fort. In the summer term the children learn about life cycles with their learning supported and extended by taking part in activity workshops. STEM Day is a chance to explore areas of science, technology, engineering and maths, with activities structured throughout the day.
All the Early Years children enjoy a session on the Banana Bus play bus as part of their physical development during the spring term and entertainment from Mr Marvel on Christmas Party day, and, if they have been very good, Santa Clause may pay a special visit as well.
We also invite speakers in to talk to the children. Visitors to school include dentists, Perform Drama, Harrow Fire Brigade and the Police Service.
