Reddiford’s pupils and staff were delighted that their new school gym and specialist classroom building was ready for the start of the new academic term.
It had been an anxious time as most of the country’s construction industry had been in lockdown. However, Darwin Group were able to complete it in time for the first day of term. The Chair of Governors, Mr. Graham Jukes OBE, conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony and said a few words to mark the occasion. The Head Boy and Girl read a moving prayer in which they gave thanks that the Reddiford community were able to join together again in celebration of this new building.
Mr Jukes thanked Mrs. Batt, the Head Teacher and Mrs Shepherd, the Bursar, for their drive and enthusiasm over the last few years is ensuring that this project was completed for the new term.
This new facility will be much used by the school and will enhance their learning facilities. It will be particularly useful for the delivery of their extra curriculum programme, including karate, information technology and coding club and a wide range of music and sporting activities. Sadly it will be a little while before the school are able to reap the full benefits of the new building due to the covid 19 restrictions on performing arts.
