Year 5 and 6 Football V Alpha- Thursday 21st November

The Year 5 and 6 children had their first football fixture of the year on Thursday and they did very well to remember what they had learnt in the Spring term last year. Both teams were a mixture of Year 5 and 6 children who scored lots of goals and made huge improvements as they gained in confidence as the matches unfolded. They adapted well to the more free flowing game and the vast pitches.

Team 1 were strongly led by their captain Georgia who covered a huge amount of ground to both defend and attack and as a result she scored 7 goals making her the Star of the Match. She combined well with Keshavi who was playing as a striker and found some good positions in the penalty area. Tanisha also played well as the primary goalkeeper and stopped many goal scoring opportunities, with only 2 conceded across two matches.

Team 2 put in an excellent team performance and started to gain a good understanding of where their teammates would be and when to pass and when to dribble. Particularly well done to Tishe, Siya N and Siya G who really grew in confidence and knowledge about their roles and shared the Star of the Match Award. The goals were nicely shared out and 6 were scored altogether and only 2 conceded across both matches.
