After a lovely walk across the park we spotted the Rounders pitch and the Alpha Prep children warming up. The Reddiford girls were keen to try out what they had been learning in lessons and those who had taken part in the match with Quainton Hall last week imparted some valuable knowledge from their experiences.
Both teams adapted very well to bowling and batting in rather windy conditions and a total of 33.5 Rounders were scored! It was fantastic to hear the positive communication between the players, as they offered each other advice and encouragement throughout the game. I was also delighted with how well the girls reflected on their strengths and targets at half time to allow them to play even better in the second innings! In the end Reddiford were victorious, with a final score of 19-14.5 Rounders!
Special mentions go to Medhavi and Arielle for incredible batting, and to Naisha for her wonderful cross-field throws. The player of the match was Zaynah for holding her nerve when bowling in tricky conditions and stopping many batters at first base with quick reactions and good decision making.
