On a hot and sunny June afternoon the Year 3 and 4 girls welcomed the Quainton Hall children to Merchant Taylor’s for their first ever rounders fixtures! The action took place on both pitches concurrently, with some spectators swivelling between the two so as not to miss any of the excitement!
The Year 3 children had a close game and kept chalking up the half rounders to reach a very respectable score in the double figures. Especially well done to Sofia for anchoring the team as the Bowler and to Tanaya for showing good tactical awareness when fielding.
The more experienced Year 4 children just edged a victory in their match. They scored an impressive five full rounders for hitting the ball and running around all of the bases, just within the second innings. Well done to in particular to Anika for some great hitting and Sophie for dominating the Bowler’s box.
It was lovely to have so many parents spectating, special thanks go to Keya’s dad for providing refreshments and to the Quainton Hall parents for their lovely comments about the Reddiford girls behaviour and attitudes.
