In a perfectly timed rounders match last Thursday; the Year 5 and 6 girls had just completed their final innings when the heavens opened and everyone made a dash for the Pavilion! Once in the dry, the Year 6 children had much to discuss with the Alpha girls about their respective residential trips and end of term celebrations.
Reddiford fielded first, and it took the girls a couple of balls to adjust to the smaller dimensions of the pitch. Once they found their rhythm, they regularly stumped players out and played like the efficient unit that they have become over the last few years. The first innings was very close, and culminated in a 10-10 draw.
In the second innings, both teams were connecting with the ball very successfully when batting, and even more Rounders were scored by both teams! The final score was 25-23 to Reddiford, which was a lovely way for Year 6 to end their Reddiford rounders careers.
Special congratulations go to Annika for her excellent bowling, Sianna for her mastery of the bases and Krisha for hitting the ball further than ever.
