Year 6 – Amersham Field Centre Trip

Posted: 17th May 2022

On Friday 6th May, on a gloriously sunny day, Year 6 travelled to Amersham Field Centre to complete field work studies to complement their Geography topic of Rivers. The children made predictions about the River Chess in terms of depth, width and velocity. The River Chess was visited at two different points and a range of measurements were made. The children also drew field sketches of the river at both Chesham Moor and Scotsbridge Mill. Once at Scotbridge Mill, the children used nets to identify the living creatures found in this part of the river. The children behaved impeccably and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
