Year 6 Netball Tournament – Thursday 10th March

Posted: 10th March 2022

As has become traditional, the weather was beautiful as the Year 6 girls welcomed Alpha Prep, Quainton Hall, St. Christopher’s and St. Helen’s College for the annual Reddiford Netball Tournament on Thursday 10th March.

Each team competed in five matches in a “Round Robin” style competition, in order to determine this year’s winner of the tournament shield. The level of netball played was particularly high this year and the goals were flying in!

The Reddiford A team produced some very strong performances, and a plethora of goals were scored by all of our shooters. They were victorious over Alpha, St. Christopher’s and the Reddiford B team and had some close games with St. Helen’s and Quainton Hall. Overall, they finished in third place. Shreya was nominated by her teammates as the player of the tournament for her interceptions and accurate distribution.

The Reddiford B team competed very well in all of their games and achieved particularly impressive results against Alpha and St. Christopher’s. In the final standings they finished fifth. Soraya was nominated as the player of the tournament by her teammates for leading by example, both on and off the court, and proving to be an excellent captain.

Congratulations to Quainton Hall, who finished in first place, and a big thank you to Mrs Knight, Mrs Cound and Mrs Davies for ensuring that the tournament ran smoothly!
